Vendor Questions
Vendor Question 1: Have you discussed the type of technology you would require, line interactive or double conversion?
Answer: No, this has not been a part of the district's consideration. These units will be used principally in IDF closets to supply emergency power to switches in the event of a power failure. The network switches in use on our campus are able to withstand the relatively short transfer times provided by most modern UPS devices. As such, the significantly higher costs of double conversion units are not necessary, but the district will entertain all proposals that meet the need. Please bear in mind that cost is the most heavily-weighted criteria for our evaluation.
