In the first meet of the season and what was the first meet ever for many of the Stacey Jr. High track members, the few representatives from Stacey did exceptionally well. In the sprints, Shana Holmes had a spectacular day as she won the 100 meter (13.03), the 400 meter (1:03.31), and the 200 meter (27.59). Not far behind was her best bud, Cordia Havertin taking second in the 100 (14.34), third in the 400 (1:08.79), and second in the 200 (30.79). Cordia also also competed in the long jump. In the distance events, Tawnee Wimsatt took second to a very talented runner from Knippa completing the 2400 meter run in 7:50.11. Later that evening, Tawnee ran the 1600 meter and again took second behind the runner from Knippa as she completed the four lap race in 6:15.15. In the Boys' division, Josh Manley ran a strong race in the 2400 meter and placed fourth with a time of 9:04.73.
