Entering in what has become one of the biggest cross country meets in the state, The Seguin Matador Invitational proved to be quite a race for the Stacey runners who are more familiar with smaller meets. Some of the divisions had over 280 runners and there was pushing and tripping at the start and throughout the course. This is the start of the Girls' Varsity division and somewhere in the middle stand Megan Benoit, Stephanie Glatt, Nicole Franz, and Tawnee Wimsatt.

The course was fantastic - on grass, wide lanes, rolling hills, well marked, and best of all, shady. Here, Garrett Wimsatt running the 3-mile course in the shade of the huge pecan trees in Starcke Park.
