Hello, my name is Teresa Leija, and this is my first year as Principal at Lackland Elementary. I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and am married to Eugene Leija.  Together, we have four wonderful children: Gabby and Jr. who are both attending college, Erik and Ethan who attend Mission Academy.  I am also a new grandma to the most beautiful granddaughter, Ms. Emily Rae.   

I attended Our Lady of the Lake University and received both my Bachelors in Special Education and Masters in Emotional Disturbance and Autism. This is my 15th year in education and I truly believe that I work with the best students, staff and parents. I am strongly committed to doing whatever I can to make your child's educational experience a positive and memorable one.
