As in the Girls' 1-A race, a Stacey Runner also won the Boys' division as Bobby Hawes took off to a commanding lead within the first 800 meters and was never challenged through the finish line beating the next competitor by forty-five seconds. The second Stacey runner was Dardo Salgado, who in spite of being sick all week managed a 9th place finish. Following Dardo in the top five slots were Kelly Knippel at thirteenth, Jovanny Ibarra at 14th, and Cody Miller in 15th. The 6th runner for Stacey was Kurt Stuebs and he was followed by Bryan Kelps. Overall, the Boys' team just missed the first place team award as they were edged out by the strong team from Mason who had three runners in the top ten.
In the Junior Varsity division, four runners competed in a race that had close to 300 entrants. Daquan Hendricks was the first Stacey runner, followed by Tony Roach, Christopher Carroll and Steven Glatt. |
