There are a couple of different ways that you can get to Medina.  By car, I'm guessing the total travel time is about one hour to maybe hour and a half.  One route is to head out due west on Hwy 90 towards Castroville and then on to Hondo.  Just before entering Hondo, there is an overpass which is Hwy 173.  Take this 173 exit to the right before proceeding under the overpass and head north to Bandera (about 45 minute drive).  When you enter Bandera, you will come to an intersection at the junction of 173 and Hwy 16 (16 will be on your right).  You will continue straight ahead, yet you will in fact be on Hwy 16 now and heading for Medina.  Continue through Bandera without turning off 16 and Medina is about another 10 miles or so.  When you enter Medina, you will pass the post office and library on your right.  Keep on going and there will be a store called Cider Mill on your right.  At the next road on your right (Medina ISD sign on left and on your right a red building with swing and humongous, cedar chair in front), you will turn right and continue another block.  This road will fork and you will take the right side of this fork.  There will be a baseball field on your left and you will be entering the school grounds.  Continue and take the next left as you approach the school buildings.  There will be lots of yellow school buses and pick-up trucks and parking is wherever you can find it. The track/stadium is directly ahead.

The other way to get there would be to go north on Hwy 16 (Bandera Rd.) and through Leon Valley, Helotes, and Pipe Creek and then into Bandera. At the Bandera intersection (173 and 16) take a right and continue on to Medina.
