Lackland ISD Schools Earns Prestigious Gold Performance Acknowledgements

Lackland Independent School District earned the prestigious Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency.  Lackland ISD earned eight acknowledgements out of a possible thirteen.  LISD received recognition in the area of attendance, college readiness, the number of students commended in Reading/English Language Arts, mathematics, and social studies.  We also received recognition under the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) in the areas of English Language Arts and mathematics. "The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a program designed to improve student success in college. It requires students to be assessed in reading, writing, and mathematics skills prior to enrolling in college, and to be advised based on the results of that assessment. Students may be exempted from taking a test for the Texas Success Initiative if they have a high enough score on their exit-level TAKS tests for mathematics and English language arts, as set by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). The qualifying scores are scale scores of 2200 on their TAKS mathematics and English language arts with a written composition score of 3 or higher on the writing component".

Lackland Elementary received four out of a possible seven acknowledgements.  Their acknowledgements included being commended for Reading/English Language Arts, Mathematics, Writing and Science.  In order to be considered for the commended GPA in any designated subject area, schools must have at least 30% of their students score a minimum of 2400 (scale score) on each test.

Stacey Jr/Sr High School received seven out of a possible 15 acknowledgements.  Stacey's acknowledgements included attendance (minimum 95%), college-ready (35% or more), and comparable improvement (top 25%) in Reading/English Language Arts.  They also received commended acknowledgements in writing and social studies.  Finally, Stacey received recognition under the Texas Success Initiative (60% or more) for English language Arts and mathematics.

Congratulations to all of our students, teachers, and administrators for a job well done.  We are very proud of you. Go Eagles!
