Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year! Lackland ISD is an integral part of Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Air Force Base. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve the dependents of our awesome military service members! We certainly hope that you had a safe and restful summer. This coming school year will be filled with challenges and excitement as we transform our district both inside and out! The most evident transformation will be seen as we begin construction of our new 500 seat district auditorium and elementary classroom addition.  We will also be renovating our elementary gym, cafeteria, special education area, and teacher resource center. We will all need to dig a little deeper and find the patience we will need while our new facilities are being constructed and renovated.  Safety will be our number one priority as we improve our facilities for both our students and staff.

We are excited about the upcoming school year! We are honored you have chosen to be a part of the Lackland Independent School District family. We have a proud tradition of academic excellence and hope to continue this tradition with your help and support. Our dedicated administrators, teachers, and staff look forward to serving our students and ensuring they have a successful school year.  We recognize and appreciate the sacrifice that the parents of our students make every day as members of the Armed Forces.  Therefore we strive to provide a learning environment that is safe and nurturing so that parents can focus on their mission.  We welcome your input and presence on our campuses because we realize that we cannot be successful without you.

We look forward to another successful school year as we continue to educate the best students in the world!  We thank you for choosing Lackland ISD and ask for your support as we provide the best education possible for all of our students.

 Sincerely,

  Dr. Burnie L. Roper
