Superintendent's Message |
Dear Students and Parents, Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! We look forward to another great school year. We are honored you have chosen to be a part of the Lackland Independent School District family. As you will see, there is no place like Lackland ISD! Lackland ISD has the best teachers and support staff in the state and I challenge you to find a better group of individuals who are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our students are successful. Lackland ISD has a proud tradition of academic excellence but this great tradition cannot continue without your help and support. Our dedicated administrators, teachers, and staff look forward to serving our students and ensuring they have a successful school year. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifice that the parents of our students make every day as members of the Armed Forces. Therefore we strive to provide a learning environment that is safe and nurturing so that parents can focus on their mission. We welcome your input and presence on our campuses because we realize that we cannot be successful without you. Although the state did not issue accountability ratings for the 2011-2012 school year, we are extremely proud of the academic achievements of our students. We are also proud of the achievements of our students in our fine arts and athletic programs as well. We are excited to be adding a junior high sports program for the 2012-2013 school year which will include girls’ and boys’ basketball teams and a junior high girls’ volleyball program. We look forward to another great school year as we continue to educate the best students in the world! We thank you for choosing Lackland ISD and ask for your support as we provide the best education possible for all of our students.
Sincerely, Dr. Burnie L. Roper
