My name is Terry Leija and I am the principal of Lackland Elementary School. It is an honor and privilege to work with your students and the entire Lackland school community. I have been working for education for the past seventeen years. Before working as an administrator, I taught special education classes as a self-contained, resource, content mastery, and inclusion teacher in the public school setting for over seven years. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Emotional Disturbance and Autism from the Our Lady of the Lake University.
Here at Lackland we want to develop each child’s critical thinking and turn them into lifelong problem solvers. I strive to create a school culture where all staff members truly believe that ALL students can and will succeed. We use data to drive instruction and focus on the individual needs of each and every child. Each and every day, we have an RTI (Response to Intervention) class period where teachers differentiate their instruction in order to meet a child’s needs who may excel or have difficulties in any core content.
I am blessed to work with the best students, parents and staff. Please free free to email me if you have any questions or concerns at email@example.com or call me at 357-5051.
