Welcome to the ACTIVlearning with Technology Web Site

Lackland Elementary is beginning our 7th year of classroom implementation of ACTIVboards. During the 2006-2007 school year, seventeen elementary school teachers agreed to participate in the ACTIVlearning with Technology Cohort. Each teacher received an ACTIVboard in their classroom, attended summer training, and worked together to develop and implement flipchart lessons. Slates, ACTIVvotes and ACTIVwands were also used.

Seventeen new users signed up and joined the cohort during the 2007-2008 school year, and three classroom teachers earned the Level II Promethean Activprimary Curriculum Developer Certification. During 2008-2009 an additional thirteen teachers have received an activboard in their classroom and have joined our cohort.

As we began 2009-2010, all elementary classroom and support teachers had an activboard installed in their classrooms, a mounted projector, and a class set of ActiVotes or Expressions.

For the  2010-2011 school year, teachers and support staff have undergone extensive training in the new, enhanced features of ActivInspire and spent time working collaboratively over the summer to develop exciting, engaging flipcharts for their students.  The use of student responders (ACTIV votes and Expressions) will serve as ongoing assessment tools to gauge student mastery in order to provide differentiated instructional options/support.

To begin the 2011-2012 school year, teachers spent time in summer staff development training sessions honing their skills and working with the new enhanced features of the ACTIV vote and Expression devices...to include self-paced assessments and Brain Pop integration. Eduphoria has also launched a new ACTIV voting device integration piece that teachers are eager to learn and utilize for ongoing assessments and data. These new integration tools will assist teachers in providing differentiated learning opportunities to ensure student success, mastery, and continued rigor for their diverse learners!!

So, where do we go in the 2012-2013 school year?  Teachers will continue to develop flipcharts and incorporate the use of the ACTIV voting devices into their curriculum.  As new features develop, teachers will have keep abreast of updates and enhanced features.
