Welcome to Lackland Elementary School and to second grade, Room 303. This is my 12th year at Lackland out of 22 years of total teaching experience. I am a native of San Antonio. I started out as a Dietitian with a BS degree in Nutrition from Texas Tech University. To become an educator I attended Graduate classes at Southwest TX State University in San Marcos (now called Texas State University). I obtained my certificate in 7th and 8th grade Science and Elementary Ed. My student teaching experience was at Schertz/Cibolo Universal City ISD in Schertz, TX. As soon as I finished my student teaching there I was offered a job there to teach 7th and 8th grade Science for five years. The next four years I taught 6th grade Science and Social Studies in McKinney, Tx - just north of Dallas, TX. I came back to live in my hometown of San Antonio to teach 6th grade Science and Social studies for 2 more years before coming to Lackland the following year to teach 6th grade Science, Social Studies and 6th grade SFA Reading. I have taught 6th grade here at Lackland for six years prior to coming to teach 2nd grade. This is my seventh year teaching 2nd grade. I look forward to teaching students in the formative years of their education. |
