During the week of October 28th, I will be holding 20 minute parent conferences in my classroom. During that time, you will be receiving your child's report card. Please go to my classroom calendar and sign up for a conference time. I will need to meet with all my parents, so I have set up times for earlier in the week to try and accomodate everyone.
Students will be released early at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st and Friday, November 1st.
My name is Stephanie Lawrence and I am beginning my 11th year at Lackland Elementary (19th year overall). I am originally from a small east Texas town called Cleveland where I attended school from 1st grade to 12th grade. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and then received my Texas Teaching Certification from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas two years later. I enjoy teaching at Lackland because I love working with and learning about the life of military kids (since I wasn't a military kid myself). I live with my husband, Dallas, and even though we don't have kids, we have a cat, Thumper, that we treat like one. In my spare time, I enjoy reading mysteries, traveling, and watching football (especially Longhorn and pro football). I am looking forward to working with my new third graders in both my class and Mrs. Boyd's class this school year!
