District of Innovation

Introduction

In an effort to create systemic improvement that will better serve and accommodate the diverse and unique needs of our military-connected stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and community members, Lackland ISD became a District of Innovation.  This distinction allows the District increased local control over District operations to improve the quality of services benefiting all stakeholders.

The process of achieving this distinction began on February 6, 2017 with the unanimous approval of all committee members present (87.5% of the total committee) at the District Education Improvement Council (DEIC).

This section of our website shares information about our process to become a District of Innovation as well as shares the final version of the plan adopted by the school board.
