Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! Our theme for this school year is “People are our priority”. We want to ensure that we are always doing what is best for our students, parents, staff, and community. Lackland ISD is an integral part of Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Air Force Base. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve the dependents of our remarkable and dedicated military service members! We certainly hope that you had an enjoyable summer. Our teachers and staff are ready to welcome our students for another exciting school year!
This summer, we continued our renovation project focusing on buildings on the secondary campus to include, our administrative building which includes our theater arts classroom and band hall. Our band hall will be equipped with state-of-the-art practice rooms for our band students.
The new playground for our 4th and 5th grade students is almost complete. For the protection of our students, we will install shades to protect the equipment from the hot Texas sun. We are working to get this project completed as soon as possible so our students can begin enjoying the new playground.
In addition to these renovations, we installed several directional signs throughout the district that will hopefully improve the experience that our visitors have when visiting our district and our campuses.
As a matter of safety, please be aware that our school doors are locked during the school day. All visitors to our campuses will be required to report to the front office before being allowed to visit the campus or any classrooms. We ask for your cooperation as we endeavor to provide the safest environment possible for our students and staff.
We are excited about the upcoming school year! We are honored you have chosen to be a part of the Lackland Independent School District family. We have a proud tradition of academic excellence and hope to continue this tradition with your help and support. Our dedicated administrators, teachers, and staff look forward to serving our students and ensuring they have a successful school year. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifice that the parents of our students make every day as members of the Armed Forces. Therefore we strive to provide a learning environment that is safe and nurturing so that parents can focus on their mission. We welcome your input and presence on our campuses because we realize that we cannot be successful without you.
We look forward to another great school year as we continue to educate the best students in the world! We thank you for choosing Lackland ISD and ask for your support as we provide the best education possible for all students.
