Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Our theme for this school year is “Coming together to reconnect”. After many months of being apart, we are excited that we will begin the new school year fully in-person. We are looking forward to seeing all our students to reconnect and build or rebuild relationships that are so critical to the learning process.
Because we are aware that COVID-19 is not completely over, we will continue many of our safety protocols. Based on recent guidance from the San Antonio Bexar County Health Authority, Lackland ISD will “require universal indoor masking and require all students (age 2 and older), staff, teachers, and visitors to PK-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a face mask indoors”. We will continue our protocols for reactions to any COVID-19 cases and will do our best to keep all our students safe.
We will continue encouraging social distancing both in and out of class when possible. We are asking that parents please monitor the health of your child(ren) and please do not send them to school if they are sick. We will have protocols in place to address any possible or confirmed COVID-19 cases. We have established an isolation facility which will be located next to the Auditorium/5th grade wing in the event a student or staff member is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
As a matter of safety, please be aware that our school doors will remain locked during the school day. Please ensure you make an appointment with the school before arriving.
The first day of school will be Monday, August 16, 2021. At Stacey Jr/Sr High School, we have transitioned from an A/B block schedule to a traditional eight period day. Students will attend all classes each day for approximately 50 minutes. Our elementary school will continue with the schedule they utilized last school year. We are aware of the opportunities to close the learning gaps especially in mathematics. Students will have opportunities to participate in additional instruction and skills enhancement both during the school day and after school tutoring. We want our students to have as normal a school year as possible, so we will do everything possible to provide as many positive experiences that we can provide. Focusing on our student’s social and emotional well-being will be a priority.
We are excited about the upcoming school year! We are honored you have chosen to be a part of the Lackland Independent School District family. Lackland ISD has a proud tradition of academic excellence and hope to continue this tradition with your help and support. Our dedicated administrators, teachers, and staff look forward to serving our students and ensuring they have a successful school year. We recognize and appreciate the sacrifice that the parents of our students make every day as members of the Armed Forces. Therefore, we strive to provide a learning environment that is safe and nurturing so that parents can focus on their mission. We wish our students and parents the best during the 2021-2022 school year. God Bless!

Indoor Mask Mandate for the 2021-2022 School Year
On August 10, Judge Antonio Arteaga issued a temporary restraining order against the state order issued by Governor Abbott, providing local officials power to enforce mask mandates at public buildings and schools. Based on this information and new mandates from San Antonio's Metro Health, Lackland ISD will "require universal indoor masking and require all students (age 2 and older), staff, teachers, and visitors to PK-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a face mask indoors."
