The UIL A+ Academics District Meet was held on campus and at Falls City ISD recently.

Our Junior High Editorial Writing and Ready Writing students competed at Lackland on November 13th.  Our 6th  through 8th graders traveled to Falls City ISD to compete on December 12th.

We had 30 amazing students from Stacey Junior High who practiced with their coaches throughout the Fall and participated in the District Meet!

Art Memory:

In the 7th grade contest, Brooke Lilley placed 3rd!

Chess Puzzle:

For 6th grade, Jesus Figueroa Mendieta won 5th!

For 7th grade, Marcelina Canchola won 2nd; Riley Shattuck placed 4th; Elisabeth Albrecht placed 5th! As a team they won 1st place!

For 8th grade, Landon Hitchcock placed 2nd and Daniel Westerlund placed 3rd!  The team of Landon, Daniel, and Jacques placed 1st!

Dictionary Skills:

For 8th grade, Alanis Garcia won 4th!

Editorial Writing:

For 6th grade, Jordyn Bennett placed 5th!

For 8th grade, Alanis Garcia won 2nd & Gianna Kenneally placed 5th!

Impromptu Speaking:

For 6th grade, Addisen Johnson placed 4th and Jordyn Bennett placed 5th!

For 7th grade, Peyton Nichols won 1st!

For 8th grade, Mason Gamble won 1st & Katherine Sapp won 3rd!

Mathematics:

For 6th grade, Alice Roscoe placed 4th and Makhi Holsey placed 6th! Alice, Makhi and Addisen won 2nd Place Team together!

For 7th grade, Jesus Figueroa Mendietta won 3rd place and Joseph Kenneally won 6th place! Jesus, Joseph, and Zhara won 2nd Place Team together!

For 8th grade, Aidan Bermudez won 4th place and Oliver Weller won 5th place!

Modern Oratory:

For 6th grade, Jordyn Bennett placed 2nd!

For 7th grade, Peyton Nichols won 4th!

Music Memory:

For 7th grade, Jacques Chicoine placed 4th!

Number Sense:

For 6th grade, Hunter Updike placed 5th! The team of Hunter, Logan, and Karisma won 3rd place team!

For 7th grade, Oliver Weller placed 3rd, Aidan Bermudez placed 4th,and Joseph Kenneally placed 6th! These three won 2nd place team together!

Oral Reading:

In the 7th grade contest, Amaya McCray placed 6th!

Ready Writing:

In the 8th grade contest, Mason Gamble won 2nd place!

Science:

For 6th grade, Amariyah Mills placed 4th!

For 7th grade, Oliver Weller placed 2nd!

For 8th grade, Gianna Kenneally placed 3rd!

Spelling:

For 6th grade, Karisma Calvery placed 4th and Addisen John placed 5th!

 The Speech Team of Addisen, Jordyn, Lasiana, Peyton, Amaya, Mason, and Katherine placed 2nd!

The Journalism Team of Jordyn, Makai, Gianna, Alanis, and Mason placed 3rd!

 

As a school, Stacey Junior High placed 3rd out of the 6 schools who participated in the District Meet!  Way to go!

 

Congrats to ALL of our students and their Coaches!!  Even if they did not place, they did their best, were great competitors, and were incredible representatives of Lackland ISD!
