Joint Base San Antonio School Liaison Office

Joint Base San Antonio School Liaison Office (SLO) helps parents ease the transition of the mobile military lifestyle and can assist prior to your PCS, upon arrival, while at your installation and when you prepare to depart for your next duty station.  They specialize in serving military families with K-12 school age children and are able to provide information about the local school systems and community. The SLO will support parents and school districts with the Interstate Compact for the Education of Military Students interpretation, information on schools and boundaries, Home School, Deployment Support, and provide School and Community Outreach partnerships.  These military dependent education professionals serve as a link between military families and all surrounding school districts ensuring maximum educational opportunities for academic success.

Biography

Mrs. Broadus is the School Liaison at Lackland Air Force Base. Her position serves as the installation point of contact for all local military child education matters. Develops and maintains working relationships with local schools and other agencies that provide and support education services to military connected students. As an additional role she assist in serving as the back up to the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP which enables her to provide information and referral to military families of children with special needs.

Prior to this position, Mrs. Broadus, served as the Management Analyst for VA Southern Nevada Healthcare Systems Director in Las Vegas, Nevada. Responsible for the creation of key statistical measures for multiple care lines and developed studies for performance measures and outcomes as they related to service lines.

Mrs. Broadus was born in Contra Costa, California and joined the United States Air Force in May 2003. She served a Missile Field Security Forces member where she met her husband MSgt Charrell “Chuck” Broadus who is active duty serving as Little Rock AFB Flight and Operational Medicines Flight Chief. They have two children, Charleigh Joy Broadus a vibrant 8 year old and a curious 5 year old Jaxson Grant Broadus.
